How do I find out date of birth from an age?

I have a person's age in one column, and in the next I would like a
formula to show to when that person was born (obviously the <i>year</
i> when that person was born, not exact date).
There's either a really simple answer or a really long answer! either
way I can't find it anywhere! It must be a case of simply taking the
'age' away from the 'current date'.. but hooow! Please help,
thankyou.

To the OP:

Note that the *year* will depend on whether or not the person has had their
birthday this year or not, ie if they have not had their birthday yet you
will have to subtact 1:

Yes, that's true. I think the data provider should define that a person's age
is, say 40 if his/her 40th birthday is within that year!

And perhaps I should have been more specific in that I meant you had to
subtract 1 from your formula result *NOT* the person's age!
