how about copying & pasting the text into Word and using its Word count

I don't think OneNote has a built-in word count feature.

I'd think you'd write your essays in Word?

I think Word is for writing your essays.

OneNote is more for doing your research and gathering raw material in
preparation for writing the essay.

I stupidly purchased a laptop which only included One Note, and NO Word. Ive
had to use Open Office. It was a bit of an impulse buy, sigh...

Sorry for the double posts guys & thanks for your help.

Did you check whether your school has a deal with Microsoft to give
licenses to all students?

Hmm, i never thought about that! I would have thought id have heard about it,
but itd be a good idea to ask anyway... Im in New Zealand, going to an
'Institute of Technology', not a University. So could be a little small for a
deal like that, maybe.

Cheers )

Don't count on it. Licenses may still be available where you are.

If not, ask them why not?

My university has around 4000 undergraduate and 2000 graduate students.
Through a deal with Microsoft we get WinXP, Office 2003 Pro, ON 2003 ,
FrontPage 2003, Visual Studio 6 to install on our own computer (and
retain the license for it once we graduate).

Well arent you the lucky ones?! Im definitely going to find out about that. I
just found out that we have 6000 students over 4 campuses, i thought its be
alot less.

I was going to buy Microsoft Student edition but its so expensive! How does
a teaching institution go about making a deal like that with Microsoft?

Joan will continue to moan

Oh my God, just spent an hour trying to do word count on my 'top selling
book'. All seems to go askew when changed. Feel like throwing out window.
It' only two floors up. Cant find word to copy and paste. Paste my face with
soot.
