How do I find the missing messages from emails?

D

I sent an email for someone and they replied. However, there was no message
visable. I have had this happen before. How do I real the email and/or
prevent this from happening in the future.

is the message missing from your inbox or is the text missing from the
message body?

Uffda! Even an MVP, actually *especially* an MVP should know that
Usenet etiquette is to limit signature blocks to 4 lines.

No, you sent an email *to* someone.
However, there was no message visable.

Where? In the copy of the email that you sent? Or in the reply email
that you received?
I have had this happen before.

For how long? Did it go away or has it been erratic behavior for
awhile?

I don't know how to "real" emails. I know how to read them, though.

checkers do not check grammar or intent.

Are these plain-text or HTML-formatted emails?

If HTML-formatted, can you see the message (and HTML coding) by
right-clicking on the body and viewing the source?

Do you have Google Desktop installed?

WHICH version of Outlook are you using?

Is the problem solid or erratic? Hard to tell based on your
description.

Yet tried running Outlook in its safe mode ("outlook.exe /safe")?

Yet tried rebooting into Windows' Safe Mode (with networking) and
seeing if the problem goes away? Of course, if it is a flaky problem
then the problem may not be exhibited during your particular safe mode
Windows session.

This did not help. I am still having a problem reading the body of the
message in situations when someone responds to my email.

I am using Office 7 on Vista.

Office 7? Haven't heard of that version.

So when you right-click on the e-mail (that, from what I can tell, is
someone sending you e-mail as a reply to your prior e-mail you sent
them), there is no option to View Source? Are these plain text
e-mails then?

If the problem is only when viewing someone's replies to your e-mails,
what happens if you send yourself a test e-mail and reply to it? Can
you read the body of your own reply? If this works then perhaps the
problem is with whomever is replying to your e-mails.

If you do the test (send e-mail to yourself, reply to it, and receive
and read the reply), does the same problem occur when using Outlook
Express (to send, reply, and read the reply)?

"This did not work" doesn't answer the question of whether or not
Google Desktop is installed.

Is the recipient using a webmail client - hotmail/live mail or any other
browser-based acct? If so, it’s a known issue - make sure your outlook is
fully updated and use plain text when sending messages to the recipients who
you know may use webmail.
