Under Help, click on About Microsoft Office Project. The version is
displayed in the panel.

Kasi,

The Professional Version of Microsoft Office Project shows a
"Collaborate" menu -- the Standard version does not. The
Professional version also has the following commands in the Tools
menu:
"Build team from Enterprise"
"Substitute Resources"
"Enterprise Options"

The Standard version does not have those commands available.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Steve,

I was replying that Help > About Microsoft Office Project does not
show the version (Professional or Standard) as it does in Project
2003, hence my reply to Kasi with more detailed information.

That's odd, it shows in the same way on my Project 2007 Standard as it has
always done. Have another look, Julie.

Hi Mike,

Well, we'll just have to add that to another one of the oddities
about Project :)

I've checked again (after several more cups of coffee) -- Project
Professional 2007 simply says
" Microsoft Office Project 2007 (12.0.6423.1000) SP2 MSO
(12.0.6425.1000) "

No mention of Standard or Professional. So, I guess we can now say,
if it says "Standard" it is -- if not, Professional.

Ah... Julie, we're at cross purposes! You're quite right, there's no
mention of Pro or Standard on mine either, just the details you quoted. I
took "version" to refer to the 2007 and SPs installed.

Ah, all becomes a bit clearer now. I took Kasi's comment about
"edition" to mean Standard or Pro -- due to the mention of 2007 in
the subject line. Yet another example of different interpretations
of the exact same question.

Hi Julie,

For clarity, do you mean that the option is grayed out for standard folks or
is it just not there ? I have the menu items there, but they are just grayed
out - I suspect that means that I have '07 PRO, correct ?

Hello Waynea,

In the Standard version, the menu options are not there at all. The
fact that you have the menu items, means you are running
Professional. The fact they are grayed out means Project doesn't
know about a project server connection.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
