Hi,

How would I go about finding a Microsoft certified specialist in my
area? Is there an on-line directory somewhere? (I looked before
posting; however, my searches were futile.)

Certified to do what? You will be hard pressed to get better help on any
Microsoft topic than is available in the Microsoft newsgroups.

I agree. Certification pales next to experience. A lot
of what you need to know to make Word work properly
consists of workarounds and "tricks". You are much more
likely to find out about these things here than from a MS
certified individual. There are other very good
newsgroups, and it is worth it to search those out, but
the quality of the help available here is the best I have
ever found.
