How do I fix an error 1706 when I do not have the ms office 2000 d

I have downloaded an upgrade for MS office onto the pc where it appears that
I need to have the MS office 2000 sr-1 prefessional disc. I do not have this
disc and now I can no longer access Excel ect. Your help is appreciated. Kidn

Create a new shortcut to "c:\program files\Microsoft
office\Office\Excel.exe" and double-click on it. It should not prompt for
the CD anymore.
