How do I fix and open a corrupt publisher 2003 file?

I have created a large website on Microsoft Publisher 2003. This morning
when trying to open the publisher file it says it is unable. How do I fix
this corrupt file so it will open? I have tried open text only but since it
is a website I get a bunch of jibberish.

If you have Norton turn off the office plug-ins and try that first.

You can try to do a search on your hard drive for a *.tmp file, and
ascertain by the name, date that it is your Publisher temporary file. Rename
name it with a *.PUB extension. Once you open it, immediately save it with
SAVE AS and another name and delete the file you just opened.

If that doesn't work, then reference "How to troubleshoot a damaged
publication in Publisher":
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/198256/en-us

And if you still have no joy, then at the bottom of this article are
instructions for rebuilding your site: "Common Sense Computing 101 aka "Why
in the world would you lose your publisher file?":

Good luck...
