How do i fix error MS09.DLL?

I have an excel spreadsheet file on a floppy disk with about 10 mos worth of
work on it. When i try to open it this error message appears:

Excel has caused an error in MS09.DLL
Excel will now close

I tried to rename it, copy and paste, open with lotus 1-2-3, emailed it to a
coworker, scanned disk, clean disk, etc..
I am in desperate need of help!!!
