How do I fix errors in my Microsoft Office 2000 without a cd?

I had a mini-crash on my computer that messed up Microsoft Office Excel. I
got my Microsoft Office 2000 from a computer friend that is unfortunately not
doing business in our area anymore so he can't fix my Office problem.
Whenever I try to access my Excel from the shortcuts in my start menu I come
up with the message of the CD trying to install and since I have no CD then I
can't put the CD in. I never get the Excel program working that way. Then I
go in the program files, I find the Excel icon and click on it, then the CD
message I mentioned earlier comes up but the Excel program does come up and I
can use Excel. The program is I can't fix the errors or update my Office
because I don't have a CD. Is there any way I can update my Office or fix my
errors using the Repair option from the Add/Delete prgrams list without the
CD that was used to install it? By the way, I have Windows XP with SP2 and
have looked through other sites and Microsoft for help but no luck. I
desperately need to use Excel properly and would appreciate someone reading
this and responding. I tried to give all the information I thought of but if
you need more information please tell me. Thanks.
