how do I fix Outlook requires Outlook Express 4.01 error?

I seem to have inadvertently removed a piece of Outlook Express that is
required by Outlook 2002 to run properly. I installed Outlook Express 6 and
it runs fine, but I still get this error and not Outlook. I also uninstalled
and reinstalled Outlook - no luck in getting it back.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Milly,

Thanks, but I already tried that link and there was no change in the
behavior. I uninstalled my Outlook, uninstalled IE and Outlook Express, found
an old NT install disk and nothing.... On a whim I decided to go back to a
daily restore (XP generated) and tried to restore to that state. Voila I'm
back to where I was - 8^). First time I used restore!

BTW, the knowledge base posting makes no reference to if you are running in
XP - it assumes you have access to the install disks of those O/S. What if
you didn't have access to them?
