How do I fix the address book to work with the find contact box?

I just updated my office program to office 2003 prof. When I enter a name in
the find a contact box I get a message that the contact can't be found, my
address book appears to be no longer functioning. If I do a search and enter
the name in in the find box then it can be found.

In place upgrades of Outlook do not work as they should. You lose no data,
but you sever some of the connections to your old data.
Whenever you attempt an in place upgrade, make sure you reset the Outlook
Address Book Service so it can find your Contacts Folder again. Method
depends on the version from which you upgraded, which you failed to specify.

It is also wise to create a new profile from scratch whenever you try an in
place upgrade:
