How Do I Flatten a Master Schedule?

J

JJ

I have a master scheduling currently consisting of 3 subprojects. I
need to be able to send a flattened version of the master schedule to
someone so that I don't have to send multiple files. I need to be able
to send one file with all the tasks from the 3 subprojects, all the
links, and all the external links between the subprojects. Is there an
easy way to do this? Does someone have a macro which will do this?

Thanks!
JJ

JJ,
If you have external links between subprojects then yes, you do need a
macro. And yes, I have a macro that does exactly that but it is not
freeware. If you want to know more, write me at the address below.

Hi JJ

If you select the Insert Project Option, and unselect 'Link to Project'
check box, you will have a master project inserted. the downside is that you
have to perform the insert each time you want to make your 'flat' plan.

Mickey,
That process will create a static consolidation (i.e. so called "flat
plan") but it will not retain or convert external links. Those must be
converted manually (after the external link is removed), or converted
using a VBA procedure.

One other point, you do not need to insert each subproject individually.
Just select all desired subprojects in the Insert window, uncheck the
unlink box and then hit "Insert".
