How do I force Access to use UNC's as it reverts to absolute paths?

Dear Group,

Wondering if you might be able to help.. I'm presently trying to build a
database which is accessed by a number of users within my network. I want to
use a UNC path instead of a absolute path which includes the drive letter..
for example;

I want \\machine1\folder1\table2 I put this in but Access then changes it
to z:\table2 as I have folder1 mapped to my z:\. Not all of our users have
z:\ mapped to folder1 which is why I want Access to use the UNC and not the
absolute address as mapped by me. If anyone can help I would be most
grateful. I am using Access2002 on winXP professional.

Best regards,
Roy.

How are you telling Access to use the UNC? If you're doing it in code, it
shouldn't be changing. If you're doing it through the Linked Table Manager,
make sure you navigate to the external MDB through Network Neighborhood.
