How do I FORCE Outlook to display & edit emails in Word? Options .

I have MS Outlook 2003. I have configured it to use MS Word 2003 to:
1. Edit email messages.
2. Read Rich Text email messages.

I did this by going to Tools, Options, Mail Format, then put check marks
before these options.
Now, most of the messages I receive, when I open them, they open in
Outlook’s Rich Text editor rather than MS Word 2003. In addition, when I
click on Edit Message button on the tool bar of the MS Outlook editor, the
computer allows me to edit the message in Outlook’s Rich Text editor, not
Word’s 2003!
Basically, I would like it, when I open an email message to be open in an MS
Word window ready to be edited. I used to do this in MS Outlook 2000, but not
2003!
By the way, I am using Windows 2000 Professional.
Does anyone have a resolution for this problem?

Hi,
first be sure that you HTML Editor is Word
Open Internet Explorer
Tools, internetoptions, programs
There you could activate word as HTML Editor
Maybe this is enough to use Word, if not, please post again!

Hi AndreasRoeder,
Unfortunately, I do not have permissions to access Programs under Internet
Options. I am on a company’s network and permissions are limited. If there is
another solution from within Word or Outlook, then accessibility would not be
a problem.
Thank you anyway. I appreciate the help.
