How do i free disk space so pictures can be displayed

Im trying to open application with mainly screenshots on it, it will only
open 4 of them and a message keeps coming up "not enough memory or disk space
to display or print pictures" How to fix this as it opens other applications
with plenty of photos in them!

Clear your TEMP folder and turn off any apps that are started up, but
