How do I get a cropping tool with which I can crop an OLE object?

I have an OLE object generated by another program (Bagpipe Music Writer). I
wish to crop the object. It is not recognized as a graphic so the drawing
tools do not appear when the object is clicked on. I can do a crop through
Format Object and entering cropping measurements, but it would be so much
easier to use the cropping tool, which I cannot seem to access.

I would venture to guess that OLE objects can be cropped only in their
native applications.

The Picture Toolbar only appears automatically if you select a picture but
you can turn it on manually just like most other toolbars (2003 & prior but
you don't mention version). Depending on object type the Cropping tool will
be usable. If 2007 I'm not sure - many of the "Contextual Tabs" are quite
strictly defined & can't be accessed manually.

I'm using (learning to use) Word 2007.
Cropping an OLE object in earlier versions was not a problem - crop tool
was available in Picture Toolbar.
In Word 2007 it appears I cannot access Picture Toolbar unless I click on a
graphic; clicking on the object doesn't bring up Picture Toolbar.

Anyone got any ideas?
