How do I get a new program listed in the Options| Edit|Picture Editor program
for Word 2003?

Our users are really missing MS Photo Editor now that they have been
upgraded to Office 2003. We have some other graphic editing packages, but
can't get them listed in the drop down list box to select them as the default
program to edit pictures. The only option listed in the box is Microsoft
Office Word. What's the trick?

Hi Patti,

Unfortunately Word doesn't support outside apps for editing
in the Tools=>Options section. :(

Cut and paste between Word and your graphic editor is one
method.

LOL - So why is the selection box even there? :) Is there perhaps a future
enhancement planned that will actually enable that feature?

Thank you so much for keeping my head from getting too bruised... :)

Hi Patti,

The selection box originally had more than one choice,
but even when MS Office 2000 shipped with MS Office Photodraw
you couldn't access it as a 'choice' in that dialog box.

One can only 'hope' that there would be a choice built in
in future :) but...
