How do I get a non-responsive project plan active?

I tried to change a date in the actual complete column and the entire project
plan has frozen up. I can scroll through it, but it won't let me do anything,
and keeps flashing on any actual compete date. I can't close the plan; I can
open another one, but can take no action, and then cannot close it either.
Tried to uninstall, but can't since the files are in use (although MS thinks
it unistalled it ). Help!

Sounds like the MPP file is corrupt. See
http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm#Handling_project_file_corruption_and/or_bloat
for ideas.

FYI Un-install of Project will not likely fix and is a very last resort
for fixing any computer problem.
