How do I get a trial version download of microsoft office to work

Confused

I downloaded a trial version of microsoft office 2007 professional. When I
tried to use it, I got a pop-up that told me that my trial version was over
and I needed to convert it to the version to buy. What am I doing wrong? I
ran diagnostics and they told me some problem and when I tried to follow
their instructions what to do again office would not let me complete it. So
what now
