Give your Drop Down list a name, ex: SubjectLine. Then right-click on the
form and chose Form Properties. Then Options, then click the Email Results
Tab. Where it says Subject Line check the box that says Form Field Name and
type in the name you gave your drop down (ex: SubjectLine)

Getting an attitude isn't a great way to get people to help you. It IS a
good way to get people to ignore you.

In case it escaped you, people here a VOLUNTEERS. No one is PAID to answer
these questions. We do it to TRY and HELP people. If you don't like the
answer you get you could always rephrase it. maybe people don't understand
exactly what you're trying to do. You weren't exactly explicit. You could
try reading this
http://www.frontpagemvps.com/FrontPageNewsGroups/tabid/53/Default.aspx
before you post again. OR you could stay dissatisfied with the assistance
you're getting here and try using your F1 (Help) key in FrontPage.

Mike

ok .. i will explain

i wish to present a drop down list, the user selects an item from the list ,
the selected value is called by FRONTPAGE <option selected value=

an example is a list of 3 items

APPLES
PEARS
ORANGES

the user selects "APPLES"

i wish to have the OPTION SELECTED VALUE, " APPLES"

PLACED INTO SUBJECT FIELD of the form that

i receive as an EMAIL.

is this clear enough ?

HI, , yes i did

and i spent the last 2 hours trying to make it work

but it does not

this is what the code looks like stripped from all the frontpage labels

<p><select name="SubjectLine" size="1">
<option value="apple">apple</option>
<option value="orange">orange</option>
<option value="pear">pear</option>
</select><input type="submit" value="Submit" name="B1"><input type="reset"
value="Reset"
name="B2"></p>

this does not place the selected item into the subject field of the form
i have removed FIXED values for the subject field
like the code below

<input type="hidden" name="subject" value="New Order">

but when there is no value for subject field, FP inserts a default value
as i stated in my previous email.

***Did you read my other reply where I gave you the step by step for this?

You are not using the FrontPage extensions to process the form. You
will have to ask the author of mailto.exe how to proceed, since
mailto.exe does the form processing.
