How do I get access to SQL-requested for Access 2003 Inside Out

I have samples on my computer from the book "Microsoft Office Access Inside
Out". I am using this book to further my skills in MS Access 2003. When I
open the Contacts sample, which is supposed to provide information about SQL
connection, I am not able to connect to SQL. Is it necessary form me to
purchase this program or is it supplied with Access 2003?

To add to my last post, you will also Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 for SQL
Express to work.

A version of SQL Server is supplied with Access 2003. It is
on one of the CD's, but the installation program is separate.

SQL Server is not generally supplied with run-time or demo
versions of Access. There is a separate run-time/demo version
of SQL Server.
