How do I get an 8mb and 11mb email out of my outbox?

V

vegasdon159

I have 2 outgoing emails stuck in my outbox. I mistakenly sent them to my
email address from my scanner, and no I can't get them to send, and are stuck
in my outbox. One is 8mb, and the other is 11mb. Can anyone tell me what to
do?

I tried that right after it happened on Monday, and have tried that every day
since, but they will not delete because they are being processed for
delivery. Problem is they are so large that they cannot be processed, and are
hung up in my outbox. Thanks for responding.

I have the same problem with a much bigger file (91 MB). I tried what you
said, but it will still not delete. Any other suggestions? I have OL 2003
as well.

When you place Outlook in offline mode (File->Work Offline) and then close,
ensure it is completely closed before reopening using Task Manager. If any
instance of Outlook.exe is still active, kill it using task manager, wait
about a minute and then reopen Outlook. Then delete the file from your
Outbox.

This is more involved but should work.

Create a new .pst file (file->new->outlook data file) and give it a
distinctive name. Make it the default location for new mail (File->Data
File Management). Close and reopen Outlook. Delete the mail from the old
outbox. Reverse your steps to reinstate your old .pst file as the default.
Close and reopen Outlook.

I think I tried to do what Milly suggested, though I'm not sure. I think
maybe my furious head scratching indicates I'm beyond help. I'm not sure
that I made the new file the default file. Could you take me through that
step by step to make sure I did that? I clicked on file>data file
management> but I don't see a place to designate any of those listed as
default file. Also, I apparently don't know how to delete the mail from the
old outbox because nothing happens when I try to do that.

nothing to highlight. It is already highlighted and transmitting & pressing
delete on keyboard or on Outlook toolbar has no effect. Turning off computer
& restarting or end task all have no effect. Other mail can be sent in
spite of this endless transmission.
thanks anyway

In Outlook, click on File->Work Offline. Completely close and reopen Outlook. Delete the items from your outbox. Click on File->uncheck Work Offline. Close and restart Outlook.
