How do I get colour

I have been producing a magazine for a couple of years, its always been in
black and white, now i want to use colour. I usually print the file as a PDF
and send this to the printer. I have tried printing with the new colour
photos but its still BW, I have checked in print preview and the images are
BW, how do i change this, its driving me mad!!

Dan,
How are you printing it? Via distiller? Check distiller settings.

Postscript printers usually have the option for black and white or
colour printing in their setup. Check that you have a colour option and
that it is selected.

1)the document needs to be a color document (Tools menu, Commerecial
Printing Tools, Color printing. The better choice here will probably be
Process Colors)

2) when you print you have the choice of printing it as greyscale or as
composite RGB or composite CMYK.

Most likely you are simply printing it as b&w.

You need to make the corect settings in the print dialog. (see Advanced
Print Settings button) composite cmyk is probably best.

Thanks to all, the combination of things in your emails has sorted out my
problems
