How do I get disable the confirm for delete statement on toolbar?

I have Word 2003. When I go to delete material in text, I highlight it and
then press the "delete" key. What happens is that in the lower left corner, a
query appears that says: Do you want to delete this? No/Yes. I have to then
select the "yes" option to delete the material. Is there someway to disable
this extra step in the delete process?
