How do I get downloaded and unzipped templates to show up?

I have downloaded and unzipped some of the templates for OneNote at the
Microsoft site. I have tried placing them in several different directories,
closing OneNote and restarting it and still can't find a way to find/use the
downloaded template. Please help!

If you got it from Microsoft, unzip the CAB file and then double click on
the file with a .onepkg file extenstion. It will walk you through the steps
to install it.

I tried that and I got a message saying"Files from other programs cannot be
opened in OneNote"

What is going on?

This is because you are running OneNote 2003 (guessing this from your other
post.) You will not be able to use .onepkg files with OneNote 2003.

I did this, but the "walkthrough" asks me where I want to extract to. I
don't know where that should be, other than where the person who created the
template said to put it. But when I put it there, it wiped out all the
original templates.

Postar,
you replied to an old posting in a thread which is no longer available
on the Newsgroup server.
Therefore I can not even make an educated guess an what you are trying
to do and which problems you are facing.

Do yourself and all of us a favor:
Open a new thread with a distinctive subject and explain the situation
there.
Let this thread die.

Rainald
P.S. Pls also sys which version of ON you are working with (2003 or
2007)
