Now that the Office Assitant has been "fired" (booooooo), how in the heck am
I supposed to get help? For instance, I am trying to view my doc in "Normal"
mode, and can't figure out how. I've tried everything. I'm NOT
inexperienced when it comes to MS Office applications, but this new release
is causing steam to blow out my ears. I'm terribly frustrated. I'm jst
trying to write a simple one page doc, for Heaven's sake. And so far, I've
spent a half hour searching JUST for an answer to where the help option went.

Someone, PLEASE tell me there is an easier way! How do I find help IN Word,
without having to get out on the net, go to MS website, create an account,
create a high-level security encrypted password, wait for confirmation email,
verify confirmation email, sign in to Live help, only to find it's not live,
search through a million posts, not find what i'm looking for, post, and then
wait God knows how long until I receive an appropriate and effective
response?

Thanks

Don't get so excited. The Help in Word 2007 is horrible. Worst I've
seen in any major program ever.

If you set it so you get online help, you get junk, with huge numbers
of template suggestions -- no matter what you put in for the search terms.

If you set it to use offline help (only), you get the same basic
"manual" no matter what your search terms are. Some very basic and
obvious search terms turn up no relevant returns at all.

The "?" on dialog tabs take one to the same generic manual.

I just can't imagine what Microsoft had in mind in giving us such
poor help.

Side note--"Normal" has been renamed "Draft" View, if that helps you
find it.
