How do I get it to take %done in to account?

Hi;

Ok, I am now using resource leveling - works great. But...

1) If I have tasks that are not complete, but they were scheduled for
before today, they are no pushed out to show that they will still
require resource time.

2) If I have tasks that are partially or fully done, but their start
time is after today, they still show as requiring all of their time in
the future.

I'm scheduling for software so by definition the work comes in in a
different order than projected. How do I handle this?

thanks - dave

Make sure you're setting the status date in Project > Project Information....and
confirm the settings in Tools > Options > Calculations

I would recommend toggling to "On," items 1,2 and 4 at a minimum - then working
through the other options.

Make sure those settings are all done (and the status date is updated) before
you next status your project.

After entering all the data, you will need to select all tasks and "Reschedule
to the Status Date" using the button on the Tracking Toolbar.

That should update your schedule properly.

Oh wow - this is exactly what I want!!!!

Ok, only 1 last item. When I did this it scheduled nothing for today.
I can live with that, but I'd prefer that it realized people are
working today.

??? - thanks - dave

If today is the status date, it assumes you're entering completion through
the end of the workday today. Then when it brings forward any uncompleted
work that needs to be rescheduled, it has to put it at the earliest time it
could possibly take place, the next work minute AFTER today.

Oh... That makes sense.
