How do I get Latin version of a font?

H

hmm

There is a font in the menu, called Narkisim, that appears (in Latin
characters) to be exactly what I am looking for for a poster application.
Trouble is, the font can only be applied to Hebrew characters; using Latin
characters causes the font to revert to some other one (Constantia).

How can I use the Narkisim font's Latin characters?

Fonts of non-roman alphabets often incorporate roman letters from some
standard font. The one in Narkisim looks like Albertus, which has
often been used on book covers..

hmm

Thanks grammatim.

The Narkisim Latin font, as displayed in the font menu, looks nothing like
Albertus! At least not on my version. Narkisim looks stylistic, as if you
could make the letters with strips of paper or matchsticks. Albertus looks
very similar to Arial.

Is it possible I need the T.T. version of Albertus? (On my panel, it has
the printer icon to the left of the font name.) If so, how do I get it?

Albertus looks nothing like Arial, so it would appear that you do not have
the font installed.

I don't have Albertus installed either -- which is probably why when I
type roman letters in Narkisim, it shows up as Times! Where I see
Albertus is by double-clicking on the filename in the Fonts window,
and also (too small to really tell) in CharacterMap. But not in
BabelMap.

Albertus is not supplied with any Microsoft application. It is a resident
font in many HP printers. If you got it with a printer, you would probably
find the corresponding TrueType font on the printer installation disk.

But it's not Albertus that hmm wants, but a font that looks like
matchsticks or paper scraps. An odd choice, some random display font
to appear in a non-roman font!

Oh, I agree. I was just responding to what appeared to be the question here.
