How do I get MS Proj to stop rearranging my tasks after I save & e

When I add a task in MS Project, after I save and close it out, when I reopen
it, my tasks are rearranged. I have no idea why. Also, when I try and move
tasks, after I save and exit, when I reopen it, the tasks are not in the
order that I specified. The tasks revert back to their original order,
instead of in the order I put them in.

What version of Project including service pack are you using? Do
you have any sorting applied to the plan?

Maybe the view you have is sorting by Name

Click on View > ( See which one has a tick) > More Views > Select the view
from this dialog box ( which was ticked in step 2) then click on EDIT you
will see if there are any Groups or Filters.

Thanks for the input. Unfortunately, when I followed the instructions
below, there was no filter applied. I don't think that the filter is the

What view are you using? Gantt, Network Diagram, etc? How are you
"rearranging them"? Manually, sorting, etc.?
