How do I get my address book to work?

I have Outlook 2003. When I click on to for a new message I get "contact LDAP
Directory Server (81) message. Nothing I try has changed this. Any ideas.

Shall we assume you do not use an LDAP?
If not, then explain how your profile was set up to use one.
Then set it up to use the Outlook Address Book Service instead.
