How do I get my desktop alert to "flash" when new mail arrives?

I understand the mail icon and the alert sound when mail arrives. But I'm
looking for where Outlook (when minimized) will *flash* indicating an email
instead of looking down at the mail icon all the time. A *flashing* alert is
much more effective at grabbing my attention, like it does in other programs.

I don't know of any way to do that natively. You might check http://www.slipstick.com
and see if they have any third-party utilities in their utilities section
that will do it.
