How do I get my Outlook reminders to pop up or visually alert me?

Outlook 2003

I often miss my reminders because they only make a sound, and if I am really
involved in typing or whatever, then I don't hear the sound. Can my reminders
be set up to pop up on top of whatever program I have open so that I can SEE
the reminder in front of me? The older versions of Outlook did do this and I
really miss it.
