How do I get pictures to dissolve into ech other in Power pnt

[Stranded and in need of help]

Hi there How do I get pictures to dissolve into each other in power point on
the same slide I am guessing that this is some type of animation and have
fathomed out how to do a dissolve for the text but not the pictures-please
help Thankyou

As well as Steve's method you could also try:

Have two pictures (the same size) one in front of the other on a slide.
Give the front pic a fade entrance set to slow or very slow.
