How do I get rid of 90 degree angle line ( L shape)on the corners.

I am getting help for one of my friends.... when he opens Mircorsoft Word,
there are 90 degree angle marks (they are 'L' shaped.) in each of the corners
of the page. When he opened it before, it didn't have it them, but now it
does. How do you get rid of them?

These marks usually indicate that East Asian language support is enabled. If
you don't need it, then in Windows click on Start | All Programs | Microsoft
Office Tools | Microsoft Office Language Settings. In the "Enabled
languages" pane, select and remove any East Asian languages.
