How do I get rid of message SELECT*FROM MrgFile.txt

When ever I open MS Word 2003 or Outlook I always get the same two messages
that drive me mad and would like to know how to prevent hem from appearing
Message 1: Opening this document will run the following SQL command
SELECT*FROM MrgFile.txt
Data from your database will bbe placed in the document. Do
youwant to continue YES or NO
Message 2: You cannot close Microsoft Office Word because a dialog box is
open.
Click ok, switch to word, and then close the dialog box.

Close Word, find and rename your normal.dot to .old. Then reopen Word.
Does this help?

If you encounter this message *every* time you start Word or Outlook
then it sounds like you have an add-in running each time Word starts.
If you use Word as your email editor then it starts when you start
Outlook.

Although there is a Registry hack you can use to suppress the message,
the message was added for security reasons so I'd investigate the
add-in first and remove it if you aren't using it - especially since
it could potentially be malicious.

To determine if you are using any global templates, in Word go to
Tools/Templates and Add-Ins and see if there are any global templates
or add-ins listed. If so they are located in one of your Startup
folders. The location of the Word\Startup folder can be found under
Tools/Options/File Locations and the Office\Startup folder can be
found in the Office installation path..

Take a look in each folder and if you find more than one file move
them one at a time and try duplicating the error after each file is
moved out of the folder until you determine which one is causing the
problem.

If you find you do wish to keep the add-in once you find it then take
a look at this KB article for the steps you need to take to suppress
the message:

Thank you Beth Melton,
Following your instructions from Word-Tools/ Templates and Add Ins I found
two global templates:- MyobMn97.dot and HTML.WLL
Only MYOB one was ticked.
I did a search from explorer and found MyobMn97.dot in two STARTUP folders:-
C:\......\OFFICE11\STARTUP and C:\Programfiles\MicrosoftOffice\Office\STARTUP
Deleted from both startup folders and problem solved.
Did not touch HTML.WLL

Glad to hear you have the problem solved. :)

It looks like MYOB is an accounting software?
http://www.myob.com/us/myob/index.htm

HTML.WLL is from Office 97. If you upgraded from Office 97 then I
believe the add-in/file is removed but the reference to it may linger
so you can remove it from Tools/Templates and Add-ins if you want
since it's no longer available anyway. Actually, I seem to recall
there is a situation where an error could occur if it is referenced in
your global templates.
