how do I get rid of red type with lines through it?

When I'm typing a report, all of a sudden I will have red type sometimes with
a line through it. I have to close Word and start all over. How do I get
rid of this without losing an entire report? Thanks !!

You appear to have switched on the option to track changes..
Accept the changes and turn off the option.
