How do I get rid of showing hyperlinks as "{ HYPERLINK ...}?

I feel this is a stupid question, but I believe my formatting or view
preferences recently changed somehow and it's driving me crazy. In Word 03,
hyperlinks in documents are now showing up as { HYPERLINK "http://..." \o
"text standing for hyperlink"}. I've tried several different ways to get rid
of it, but I've been out of luck and don't know what to do now. Any help will
be GREATLY appreciated!
