How do I get rid of the installer when I try to load word?

When i try to open word, an microsoft installer thing pops up. When I click
cancel, I cacn get into word, but it is still annoying! It says I need a cd>
What the heck does that mean!?

You didn't tell us which version you are using, but I'll guess it's
Office 2000.

If it says you need the CDs, that means Office is apparently not
properly installed, so you need to insert your program CDs (that you
should have gotten with your computer) to fix the installation.
