How do I get rid of too many blank pages atthe end of a saved document?

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel I know I've encountered this before, but can't recall the solution! Can someone tell me how to get rid of the extra formatted pages at the end of a document??(ie, header appears on three or four pages following the end of the written portion of the document).

THANK YOU!!!

"Pages" in a Word document are only generated if there is content that
causes them to be needed. Quite frequently they are the result of using
manual page breaks then removing the text that was on the forced page
without removing the page breaks.

You should be able to get rid of them by going to the end of the content to
be retained (Command+End), selecting all from that point on
(Shift+Command+End), then pressing the delete key.

It might be helpful to first turn on the non-printing characters (¶) to
better determine why those 'empty pages' are there in the first place :)

You're certainly welcome ‹ and if it *was* manual page breaks avoid them
from now on ;-) If you need to force content onto a new page it's most
likely because that content starts a new topic and/or with a different
heading. Format that heading either using Format> Paragraph - Line & Page
Breaks - Page Break Before or [better yet] include that attribute in the
Style applied to the heading.
