I am a student taking a Intro to Computer class the book came with a trail
version of Ms Office Professional 2007. I have downloaded the CD on my
laptop, it said that download was complete, but every time I try to use Word
of the PowerPoint a message comes up stateing that the trial has expired I
just got the book Monday and that is when every thing started going down
hill. I have the Product Ket and the Referral Key can someone please help.

If you save some hard-earned money by purchaing a used book, the the previous
owner of the book used up the trial.

Was the CD package sealed? If it was open then someone probably installed
the trial.

It is also possible that the book was published last year & the CD was date
coded to expire 1 year after the publishing date of the book. If you think
this is the case, then 1) take the book back to the bookstore, they might
exchange the book and CD. This is a biiigg maybe.
2) contact the book's publisher. This could be an issue they know about.
3) contact MS customer service to resolve the trial problem.
I suspect they will suggest that you download a trial copy from the
website.

Typically, there is no cost to download trial versions. Since this is
the case, the free trial copy didn't cost your publiser very much, and you
didn't lose much $. I mean lets face it text book prices are outrageous
enough by themselves.

Also, unless your book's publisher made a special deal with MS, then the
trial will expire long before your semester is over. You will need to buy a
student /teacher editon to get through the semester. If this is not an
option, then your campus IT center may provide computers loaded with OFFICE
that you can use to get through the semester.

Oops, I forgot... talk to your instructor. Since the school, instructor
selected the book and cd they may be able to help with the bookstore,
publisher.

Also, check with the instructor about the which edition is the correct
edition.

The bookstore may have inadvertently stocked the shelves with an older
edition (7th edtition) while your instructor may be using a newer edition
(8th ed.) (The trial software could have expired on the older editions.)
