How do I get the color box in Paint my color box is checked

I have a drawing in need to put into Paint. When I pull up the document in
Paint, my color box on the bottom is in black & white, though my Color Box on
my toolbar is checked. How do I get the color box instead of the black &
white? I am using a TIF document
