How do I get the text box to insert where I draw it?

When I create a text box, it automatically puts it in a drawing canvas and
won't allow me to place it in certain areas. If I move the box to where I
want it, Word automatically moves it down and to the left. I want it at the
top of the page (in this case), but Word won't let me do that. I checked my
page margins. What else can I do to get Word to let me put it where I want to?

You can turn off the drawing canvas by clicking on Tools | Options |
General | uncheck the "Automatically create drawing canvas" box | OK.
If the text box still doesn't move to where you drag it, try
right-clicking on the edge of the text box, left-clicking on Format Text
Box | Layout | Advanced, and specifying absolute horizontal and vertical
positions.
