How do I get word to read (vocalize) my typed matierial.

While I was working in Word a book that I was using accidentally pressed
some keys and everything started acting funny. The mouse did strange things
and the keyboard would no longer type. However when I hit the s key -I think
it was the s key- I heard a computer simulated voice start reading wherever I
pointed the mouse. All typing was disabled but the voice was reading.

I would love to know what I did so that I can use this feature at my leisure

The Windows Logo key and S will start the text to speech engiine - so could
that be the stuck key?

Thank you, that is what it was. I'm suprised that the speech engine is not
talked about under the Help. Is there a way that I can open up a speech
engine options window to slow or speed up the speech?

Control Panel > Speech > Text to Speech tab gives you a vast range of
options - well two, anyway - which electronic voice you want and how fast
you want it.
