How do I get word to respond in an e-mail attatchment?

When I open a word document attatchment that is sent by e-mail it will not
respond. What should I do? I am using word 2003.

Single-click on the attachment and copy it to someplace on the hard drive,
like the desktop. Switch to Word, select File-Open, and try to open the
attachment that way. This sometimes works when double-clicking the
attachment does not.
