How do I have an automatic date and invoice number in my pub docum

I am linking info from an excel sheet to a Publisher document to use as an
invoice. I need the date to enter automatically and also I need the invoce
number to increase by one digit each time I open the document, or save the
document. Thank you for any help you can offer.
