How do I have Outlook stop delivery of an email...

Hi,

I tried sending an email with a MPG file attached. The file size is 15MB,
which apparently is too large for my email provider to transmit. I receive
the "Outlook Send/Receive Progress" window from Outlook periodically and in
the Errors tab it'll say: the message cannot be sent because of error #552
maximum message size exceeded.

I'm using Outlook 2003 on Windows XP and my email provider is Comcast.

Now here's the problem: I can't get rid of the outgoing message. It's just
perpetually trying to send. If I right-click on the email in my Outbox and
select delete nothing happens. If I double click the message to try and open
it, I get a message stating that I cannot open the item because Outlook has
already begun transmitting it. All the while, I continue to receive the
status popup box stating that the message cannot be sent. I've even tried
switching to "offline" mode with no success.

How do I go about deleting this message, or at least have Outlook stop
attempting to deliver it? I don't want to continue to receive the popup box
with the error message.

Thanks,
Manuel

File - Work Offline.
Wait 5 minutes.
Try to delete message.
If it still fails, File - Exit.
Wait 5 minutes.
Restart Outlook, stay offline.
Try to delete message.

I have the same problem except I'm using 2007. I tried sending an email and
it apparently is too large. It has sat ain my outbox for a couple hours. I
tried following the advice previously listed to no avail. I have remained
offline and rebooted as well. Any more suggestions?

Reboot your PC with the network cable unplugged. You should then be able to
start Outlook and delete the message.
