How do I hyperlink from text boxes in Word XP to other text

In Word 2000, it was easy to hyperlink to other text/bookmarks from drawing
objects such as text boxes. In Word 2002 (XP) this feature does not work.
Is this a bug or can someone explain how to do it?

Am using '03 rather than '02, but have no problem creating Hyperlinks using
text in an AutoShape or using a shape as a hyperlink. I don't recall any
particular problem doing so in '02, but honestly can't recall for sure.

Can you be more specific with exactly how you are going about it?
