HOW DO I IMPORT DATA FROM AN MDE-PORTABLE ACCESS DATABASE?

I created an access mde-portable database and then input the data. I want to
import the data to another database so that I can edit it for future use. I
open the recipient database and click get external data. When I identify the
mde-portable database, no files show on the screen for purposes of selecting
them to be exported.
