How do I import data to user-defined fields?

I have created several user-defined fields for my contacts. I would like to
import information into those fields from an MS EXCEL file. How do I map
those fields to the user-defined fields? The import-export diolog box only
provides standard Outlook contact fields to map to. Example: I have created
a career interest field in outlook. I would like to import data into that
field. As it is not a standard contact field, how can this be accomplished?
