How do I import footnotes from Word2003 into a Publisher2003?

I imported a Word 2003 document into Publisher 2003 and lost all my
footnotes. How do I retreive them or import them?

Is there no one out there that is familiar with this issue and can answer my
question, please?

Publisher does not support footnotes. You can create them manually or perhaps
copy/paste.
